Business News – Integration of a new automated material handling system in a French tyre factory

A new contract in the handling equipment market

We have just won a new contract in the logistics market, and more specifically in the material handling market, to support a French tyre factory.

The handling systems market encompasses a wide range of technologies, equipment and services designed to optimise the flow of goods in warehouses, factories, distribution centres and production sites.

Automation plays a key role in the materials handling market. Companies are increasingly adopting automated handling systems, such as robots, automated conveyors, sorting systems, etc., to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Focus on tyre manufacturing plants

Tyre factories play an essential role in the automotive and transport industries. They are responsible for producing high-quality tyres for a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorbikes, bicycles, aircraft and many others.

These factories are made up of different workshops such as before and after curing workshops, retreading workshops, acceptance workshops…. Corresponding to the different phases of tyre manufacture.

These workshops are generally equipped with automated conveyor systems to transport the products to the next steps in production.

Challenges and Issues for this type of installation

Tyre manufacturing plants have to meet complex regulatory compliance challenges. They have to respect a range of strict safety and environmental standards, some of which vary from country to country. They must constantly adapt to changing market demands and consumer expectations, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Our strengths in responding to this project

Our industrial automation experts have been active in this market for many years, and have a perfect knowledge of the automated systems that control conveyor systems. We operate in a wide range of logistics sectors, which gives us an informed overview of the various installations. Our staff also have recognised expertise in the standards set by our customers in the tyre manufacturing market.

Our scope

As part of its optimisation, we will be participating in the integration of a new transitique system in a before curing workshop for a French tyre factory.

Our mission will be complete, as we will first be carrying out the electrical and automation studies, then supplying the electrical cabinet managing the new system, including all the wiring. Finally, we will commission the system on site.

In order to reduce the time needed to get the workshop back up and running, we will use a workshop simulation created with our Plug’n Test ® simulator to test and validate the process before commissioning.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank our client MG SAS for their confidence in us for this assignment. We will do everything in our power, and in particular our expertise in this type of project, to ensure the successful integration of this automation system.
