It was for a creator and installer of amusement rides that we created a digital simulator to help with the design and sale of mountain coasters.
We developed a custom-made tool allowing our client to demonstrate their concept in ski resorts and action parks.
A veritable showcase
With this veritable showcase, the customer can help potential clients understand different set-up possibilities and gives them a 3D visualisation of their future Alpine coaster project.
The application allows the generation of circuits taking into account various factors : touristic development, technical and financial feasibility, terrain typology…
Wide range of possibilities
Several 3D modeling modules are offered in our progam
- Environment : for generating different terrain profiles (from topographical data or randomly), to add trees and bushes.
- Ray tracing (3D modeling) / Paths : to imagine and create downhill courses, positioning the rails to the client’s liking
- Objects : to import “decorative” existing objects (e.g. a chalet) or objects not included in the library. This module permits the user to modify the size, the viewing angle, the location…
- Calibration : to fine-tune parameters of the coaster course, like the slope, timing, collisions, speed (acceleration, deceleration)
- Demonstration : for testing the designed course with the immersive headset.

To design this dedicated editor, we used various widely-used industrial simulation technologies :
- “Unity 3D” game motor
- “Occulus” immersive headset
- “Gaia” terrain generator
- “Spleen Editor” modeling
With this simulator, our client has revolutionized their sales approach by offering their clients total immersion in the future project as it would be on their premises.
Our team of virtual reality engineers was able to understand the needs et respond to the technical specifications of the client, offering an innovative custom-made solution !
