IESA Supports the Modernization of an Industrial Control System in a Liquid Food Processing Plant

In the liquid food processing industry, operational performance relies on reliable, scalable, and fully integrated industrial control systems.

In this context, IESA has recently secured a new project involving the upgrade of an industrial GTC system to integrate new production equipment within a food processing facility.

This project once again highlights IESA’s expertise in industrial automation, industrial supervision, and modernization of existing control systems.

An Industrial Automation Modernization Project

The project involves upgrading the programming of a Siemens S7-300 PLC as well as two operator terminals to integrate:

  • A new industrial compressor,
  • A nitrogen generator,
  • And the existing process equipment already operating on site.

The objective is to ensure centralized and optimized control of the entire industrial process while maintaining production performance and operational continuity.

IESA teams are carrying out the engineering and development work from their offices in Vienne, France, covering:

  • PLC programming,
  • HMI and industrial supervision,
  • Internal testing and functional validation

Proven Expertise in Industrial Integration and Supervision

As part of this new project, IESA teams are delivering several key technical services:

 

S7-300 PLC Program Upgrade

IESA automation engineers are updating the GTC PLC program to integrate:

  • Existing equipment,
  • New process equipment,
  • And new operational control logic.

 

Profinet Communication Integration

The project also includes communication integration with an ATLAS COPCO central unit using the Profinet protocol, ensuring reliable and high-performance industrial communication.

 

HMI System Upgrades

The operator interfaces are also being upgraded to provide:

  • Optimized supervision,
  • Improved equipment visualization,
  • Simplified plant operation.

 

Development of Shared Control Strategies

IESA is also developing shared control strategies for multiple pieces of equipment in order to improve:

  • operational management,
  • automation sequences,
  • overall process consistency.
