IESA supports SOGEQUIP in a new cooling project for a Data Center

Mission en Automatisme et Electricité industriels pour la gestion du Refroidissement d'un Data Center

A critical challenge: keeping data centers cool

As the volume of data processed worldwide continues to grow, data centers have become truly strategic infrastructures. Their operation generates a significant amount of heat which, if not properly controlled, can lead to technical shutdowns, performance drops, or even major failures. Ensuring precise and reliable cooling is therefore essential to guarantee continuous operation.

It is in this context that IESA has been awarded a new mission in the field of heat management – and more specifically industrial cooling applied to data centers – by SOGEQUIP Industries & Solutions, a sister company within the GCC Construction / Energy / Real Estate group.

A new collaboration between sister companies of the GCC Group

Highly specialized in refrigeration and cooling systems, SOGEQUIP supports industrial clients on technical installations with high performance requirements. For this new project, SOGEQUIP has called on the expertise of IESA, which specializes in industrial automation, industrial electricity, and industrial simulation.

This collaboration once again illustrates the complementarity of the GCC Group entities, capable of jointly delivering reliable and innovative solutions.

Our mission: controlling the cooling units of a data center

The project involves the design and manufacturing of an electrical control cabinet dedicated to the management of pumps for the data center’s cooling units. This cabinet plays a critical role: it ensures regulation, supervision, and continuity of cooling for IT systems.

Technical scope entrusted to IESA

  • Electrical and automation engineering
Definition of architectures, technical selections, drafting of diagrams and related documentation.
  • PLC programming – Schneider Electric
Development of control logic to optimize pump operation and ensure cooling reliability.
  • Manufacturing of the electrical cabinet
Production in our workshop by our industrial electricity experts.
  • On-site commissioning in the AURA region
Testing, adjustments, validation, and client support until operational start-up.

This mission perfectly illustrates our ability to work on critical installations, where precision and service continuity are essential.

Data center cooling: a major energy challenge

Beyond the technical aspects, this mission aligns with a broader context of energy optimization for digital infrastructures. Data centers must balance:

  • equipment performance,
  • energy efficiency,
  • carbon footprint reduction,
  • security of critical systems.

Automation and energy management solutions play a decisive role in optimizing cooling systems while reducing energy consumption.
