Home > Focus on the project: shutdown of a unit at the Bois-Rouge thermal power plant for industrial electrical work in Réunion
As part of its expertise in automation and industrial electricity, IESA regularly puts its know-how at the service of major players in the energy sector. This month, we head to the Indian Ocean for a project carried out in Reunion Island, at the Bois-Rouge thermal power plant operated by Albioma.
Every year, thermal power plants carry out a unit shutdown. This essential operation allows for inspection, maintenance, and optimization work to be carried out on a production unit. These interventions guarantee the reliability, safety, and performance of the facilities over time.
On an island like Reunion Island, where energy independence is a major issue, the availability of production resources remains essential. Scheduled shutdowns are therefore strategic moments for operators and their partners.
As part of the annual shutdown of unit 3 at the Bois-Rouge thermal power plant, IESA mobilized one of its industrial electricity experts.
The mission consisted of providing electrical preparation assistance to the plant’s maintenance department. This was a crucial role in ensuring the proper planning and safety of the operations carried out during the shutdown.
By working directly on site, IESA provides technical support and expertise, while strengthening its long-term collaboration with Albioma, a major player in the energy transition in island territories.
IESA expert Sylvain represented the company on this project. His know-how and commitment enabled him to effectively support the local teams in their electrical preparations. This is a fine illustration of the human strength behind every technical mission and the importance of collaborative work with our customers.
Whether in industrial automation, industrial electricity, or industrial simulation, IESA puts its skills to work for the performance and maintenance of energy installations, both in France and internationally.
