Business News – Supply of a new control system for a TSF

A new business in the mountain market

We just won a new business in the mountain market with the « Compagnie des Alpes ».

Whether to offset the seasonal nature of tourism or to reduce their environmental impact, resorts are tending to diversify their activities.

Initially focused on the winter season, this market is changing to develop the 4-season activity by offering a wide range of activities open to as many people as possible, such as hiking, electric mountain biking or 4-season sledging… We have just won a new deal on the Mountain market with the Compagnie des Alpes.

Initially very much focused on the winter season, this market is changing to develop 4-season activities by offering a wide range of activities open to as many people as possible, such as hiking, electric mountain biking and 4-season sledging.

Focus on 4-seater fixed grip chairlifts

A fixed-grip chairlift is a type of ski lift used in ski resorts and ski areas to transport skiers and snowboarders to the top of the slopes. It is distinguished by its design, in which the seats are permanently attached to a continuous loop of cable. Unlike detachable chairlifts, where the seats can be detached from the cable for easier loading and unloading, fixed-grip chairlifts keep the seats firmly attached to the cable throughout their journey.

Focus on electrical renovations and the issues involved

Ski lifts, such as chairlifts, drag lifts, gondolas and funicular railways, face a variety of challenges, from safety and sustainability to operating costs and competition. Operators, and operators in general, need to be aware of these issues. While passenger safety is an absolute priority, so is the renovation of ageing equipment. For a number of years now, environmental sustainability has also been an important part of the challenge of preserving the natural environment.

Special features of the project

It is in this context that we are participating in the La Plagne resort project. La Plagne is restructuring its high-altitude ski area, and the facilities on the Bellecôte and Chiaupe glaciers are to be dismantled and relocated in order to preserve the glaciers.

Our strengths in responding to this project

We’ve been active in this market for several years now, and have a long track record of successful projects, particularly electrical renovations. Operators come to us for our expertise in safety-standard markets. We have refurbished many types of ski lift installations, such as fixed and detachable lifts, gondolas, carpets, etc.

Our scope of work

We are to supply the new, CE-certified control system for a fixed-grip 4-seater chairlift as part of its relocation.

Acknowledgements
