Business News – Turnkey Industrial Automation and Electricity – Management of phase 2 of the energy transition at the Bois Rouge thermal power plant – Environment

A new business in the Energy and Environment market

The energy transition is now the top of global concerns, prompting industries to rethink their energy sources to reduce their impact on the environment. Against this backdrop, the green energy market is taking centre stage, offering innovative solutions such as biomass for energy recovery.

We have just won a new contract in this market to support the Bois Rouge plant on The Réunion Island in its energy transition. This plant is converting to biomass in order to protect the environment.

Focus on Réunion's energy transition

Originally a coal-fired plant, the Bois Rouge factory has taken a 360-degree turn to convert to biomass.

By relying mainly on bagasse, but also on used pallet wood, compost and other packaging wood, Réunion is limiting the amount of waste buried in the ground, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

Bagasse is a high-quality renewable energy source. In fact, its carbon footprint is neutral when used as fuel in power stations.

If local resources are not enough, biomass can be imported. But particular attention is paid to compliance with strict criteria in terms of preserving nature, and forests in particular.

Our strengths in responding to this project

IESA has been active in the Environment and Energy markets for many years.

We support a wide range of organisations in their energy transition, drawing on our skills and knowledge of waste treatment, wastewater treatment and flue gas treatment processes. Our recognised expertise in the energy markets in general has enabled us to develop the hydraulic and renewable energy sectors.

This makes us the ideal partner to support Albioma in its project to manage phase 2 at Le Port, including the addition of biomass storage domes 3 and 4 to the site.

Our scope of work

Having completed phase 1, which consisted of managing the project to unload the boats, fill domes 1 and 2, as well as destacking them, and the automated loading of lorries at 4 stations, our customer entrusted us with phase 2 of the project.

This will involve adding storage domes 3 and 4 to the site.

To do this, we will manage the turnkey project, supplying, installing and commissioning the electrical and automation equipment.

Thanks

We would like to thank our loyal customer Albioma for their trust and loyalty for several years now.
